MHSAA District Finals Recap

Presented by Motor City Sports Network

The District Finals didn’t disappoint — the best programs in Michigan showed why November football separates contenders from pretenders. From blowouts to statement performances, every team left everything on the field as they punched their ticket to the Regional Finals.

Division 1 Highlights

Detroit Catholic Central 45, Brighton 7

The Shamrocks remain the class of the state. Their balance on both sides of the ball was on full display again, as DCC rolled past Brighton behind another dominant defensive effort. Physical, efficient, and relentless — they’re every bit the title favorite.

Detroit Cass Tech 48, Dearborn Fordson 8

Cass Tech continues to overwhelm opponents. The Technicians’ offense exploded early, and their defense made another statement by shutting down Fordson’s run game. Cass is 11-0 and charging into the Regionals with momentum and confidence.

Clarkston 44, Grand Blanc 22

Clarkston made it clear they belong among the elite. After jumping out early, the Wolves’ physicality and offensive balance proved too much for Grand Blanc. They’re peaking at the right time — and they’re dangerous.

Saline 57, Brownstown Woodhaven 17

Saline’s offense was unstoppable in the District Final, lighting up the scoreboard for 57 points. The Hornets continue to show they can win in multiple ways — speed, precision, and creativity.

Hudsonville 42, Rockford 31

One of the best games of the weekend saw Hudsonville stay unbeaten, outlasting a tough Rockford squad in a back-and-forth shootout. The Eagles proved their resilience and now move on with plenty of momentum.

Rochester Adams 43, Rochester Hills Stoney Creek 18

Adams kept its run alive with another efficient win, showing discipline and composure against Stoney Creek. Their defense stiffened late, keeping control when it mattered most.

Romeo 56, Macomb Dakota 0

Romeo dominated from start to finish, pitching a shutout in one of the most lopsided games of the round. Their physical style and defensive identity could make them a tough out going forward.

Howell vs East Kentwood (11/8)

Howell and East Kentwood will close out the Division 1 District Finals slate, with the winner set to join the Regional Final field.
