Metro Detroit Top 5 High School Football Rankings (Week 4, 2025)

Here are the rankings for Week 4. We considered team records, strength of wins, how teams handled adversity, and breakout player performances.

  1. Detroit Catholic Central (4-0)

Shamrocks solidify their #1 spot with dominant wins. Their defense remains elite, and their offense is punishing. Right now, Catholic Central looks like the state’s most complete program.

2. Detroit Cass Tech (4-0)

After an intense, drama-filled game vs Detroit Martin Luther King, Cass held on 27-22. They’ve been explosive early, but showed some vulnerability after the restart. Even so, they’re battle-tested and have one of Michigan’s most dynamic QBs in Donald Tabron II.After an intense, drama-filled game vs Detroit Martin Luther King, Cass held on 27-22. 3. West Bloomfield Lakers (4-0)

The Lakers remain perfect, including a strong showing vs Lake Orion (33-16). Their defense has allowed just 22 total points through four games. With several D1-bound players, they look like Oakland County’s best bet for a deep playoff run.

4. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep (3-1)

St. Mary’s stumbled after falling to Catholic Central but bounced back in Week 4. Their 49-10 rout of De La Salle earlier this season still reminds everyone of their offensive capability. Dangerous as ever.

5. Harper Woods (4-0)

Pioneers crash the Top 5 this week by staying undefeated and winning big when it counted: Clarkston, Groves, and a narrow win over Stoney Creek. Keep an eye on WR/DB Dakota Guerrant — the 2027 standout is only going up.

Honorable Mention

  • Detroit Martin Luther King — showed resilience, especially in the comeback, even if they didn’t finish strong.

  • Rochester Adams — tough schedule ahead; a big win could shake things up.
