Metro Detroit Top 5 High School Football Rankings (Week 5, 2025)

Here are the rankings for Week 4. We considered team records, strength of wins, how teams handled adversity, and breakout player performances.

  1. Detroit Catholic Central (5-0)

The Shamrocks roll again, dismantling De La Salle 36-6. DCC continues to look like the most complete team in the state, with a defense that rarely bends and an offense that wears opponents down. With no signs of slowing, they keep the #1 spot locked.

2. Cass Tech (5-0)

Cass Tech handled Mumford with ease, 48-0. While the competition hasn’t been elite the past couple weeks, the Technicians are taking care of business the way a Top 5 team should — dominating. Their explosive offense and depth keep them right behind DCC.

3.West Bloomfield (5-0)

The Lakers remain undefeated after a solid 35-14 win over Groves. Their defense is still one of the best in the state, and the offense is balanced enough to put away tough OAA competition. At 5-0, they’re proving they belong in the Top 3.

4. Harper Woods (5-0)

Another shutout for the Pioneers — 34-0 over Southfield A&T. Harper Woods has now outscored opponents 164-56through five weeks. While some may question the strength of schedule, winning is winning, and this team hasn’t slipped once. Their mix of skill talent and resilience deserves the #4 spot.

5. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (3-1)

The Eaglets had a bye week, but their earlier resume still holds them in the Top 5. Their offensive ceiling is high, and if they bounce back strong after the Catholic Central loss, they can climb.

Honorable Mentions

  • Belleville (4-1): Knocked off Livonia Franklin 31-21. Defending champs are still in the hunt and could reclaim a Top 5 spot with another big win.

  • Detroit King (3-2): Exploded with a 74-0 win over Detroit Western. Their two losses keep them just outside the Top 5, but no one wants to see King on their schedule.
