DVS Metro Detroit Football Top 10: Week 4 Rankings

Three weeks of the 2026 high school football season are in the books, and the DVS Metro Detroit Top 10 is beginning to take shape.

Week 3 featured dominant performances from several of the area’s top programs, while one of the biggest games on the DVS schedule delivered exactly what was expected. Brother Rice survived Warren De La Salle, 31-28, in a Catholic League thriller, giving the Warriors another quality victory and a move into the Top 3.

Meanwhile, Detroit Catholic Central and Cass Tech remain firmly planted in the top two spots, Detroit King continues its undefeated start, and Belleville makes its first appearance in the DVS Top 10 after knocking off previously ranked Fordson.

Here’s how the Metro Detroit Top 10 stands entering Week 4.

1. Detroit Catholic Central (3-0)

Last Game: W, 56-14 vs. Windsor Holy Names

There hasn’t been a reason to move the Shamrocks.

Detroit Catholic Central followed its 56-14 victory over Davison with another 56-point performance in Week 3. Through three games, DCC has continued to look like one of the most complete teams in the area.

DVS Take: Until somebody gives us a reason to think otherwise, the road to No. 1 still runs through Detroit Catholic Central.

2. Cass Tech (3-0)

Last Game: W, 46-0 vs. Detroit Southeastern

Cass Tech continues to apply pressure to the team sitting above it.

The Technicians dominated Southeastern 46-0 in Week 3, recording their second shutout in three games. Cass has been explosive offensively while showing it can completely take over games defensively.

DVS Take: Cass Tech remains firmly at No. 2 and continues to build a résumé capable of challenging for the top spot.

3. Brother Rice (3-0) ▲ 1

Last Game: W, 31-28 vs. Warren De La Salle

Brother Rice has earned its move into the Top 3.

After victories over Dakota and River Rouge to begin the season, the Warriors faced their biggest test yet against Warren De La Salle. DVS was on site as the two Catholic League programs battled until the final minutes before Brother Rice escaped with a 31-28 victory.

The Warriors are now 3-0 with another quality win on their résumé.

DVS Take: Brother Rice keeps passing every test. A win over another DVS Top 10 program is enough to move the Warriors to No. 3.

4. Detroit King (3-0) ▼ 1

Last Game: W, 41-0 vs. Renaissance

Don’t mistake King’s one-spot drop for a bad week.

Following its unforgettable 44-42 overtime victory over Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, King returned in Week 3 and shut out Renaissance 41-0.

The Crusaders remain undefeated and firmly among Metro Detroit’s elite. Brother Rice simply added another major victory to its résumé.

DVS Take: King isn’t going anywhere. At 3-0 with a victory over OLSM already on the résumé, the Crusaders remain right in the conversation near the top.

5. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (2-1) —

Last Game: W, 56-7 vs. Toledo St. John’s Jesuit

That’s how you respond.

After suffering its first loss of the season in the overtime thriller against Detroit King, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s bounced back with a convincing 56-7 victory over Toledo St. John’s Jesuit.

DVS Take: The Eaglets quickly put the King loss behind them. OLSM remains a dangerous team and holds its place inside our Top 5.

6. Clarkston (3-0) —

Last Game: W, 41-0 vs. Troy Athens

Clarkston’s defense continues to get our attention.

After allowing just seven points against Stoney Creek in Week 2, the Wolves followed it up with a 41-0 shutout of Troy Athens.

Three games. Three wins.

DVS Take: Clarkston is quietly building one of the strongest starts in Metro Detroit. The Wolves hold at No. 6, but the teams above them shouldn’t get comfortable.

7. Romeo (3-0) ▲ 2

Last Game: W, 56-7 vs. Eisenhower

Romeo continues climbing.

The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 with another convincing performance, this time against Eisenhower. After entering last week’s rankings at No. 9, the undefeated start has earned Romeo a two-position jump.

DVS Take: The Bulldogs have done everything asked of them through three weeks. It’s time to move them up.

8. Grand Blanc (3-0) —

Last Game: W, 34-0 vs. Saginaw Heritage

Grand Blanc remains unbeaten after shutting out Saginaw Heritage 34-0.

The Bobcats already own a quality victory over Belleville and have followed it with consecutive dominant performances.

DVS Take: Grand Blanc continues to handle business. The Bobcats stay at No. 8, but an undefeated résumé keeps them within striking distance of moving higher.

9. Warren De La Salle (2-1) ▼ 2

Last Game: L, 31-28 vs. Brother Rice

De La Salle takes its first loss and drops two positions, but there was no serious consideration of removing the Pilots from the Top 10.

DVS saw firsthand just how close Friday night’s game was. De La Salle went toe-to-toe with undefeated Brother Rice before falling 31-28.

DVS Take: A three-point loss to our new No. 3 isn’t enough to erase what we think about De La Salle. The Pilots remain one of Metro Detroit’s better teams.

10. Belleville (1-2) 🆕

Last Game: W, 26-21 vs. Fordson

Here comes the debate.

Belleville enters the DVS Top 10 despite its 1-2 record after defeating previously ranked Fordson 26-21.

The Tigers’ record isn’t pretty, but rankings aren’t standings. Belleville’s schedule and its head-to-head victory over the team occupying our previous No. 10 spot were enough to earn the Tigers the final position this week.

DVS Take: Belleville still has plenty to prove, but beating Fordson gave the Tigers the opportunity they needed to break into the Top 10.

The rankings will only get more difficult from here. Conference and Catholic League schedules are heating up, undefeated teams will collide, and every week provides another opportunity for a team outside the Top 10 to force its way into the conversation.
