Northville Girls Golf Eyes Third Straight State Championship After Dominant Regional Performance

NORTHVILLE, Mich. — The Northville Mustangs girls golf program is preparing for another shot at history as the team heads into the 2026 MHSAA Division 1 State Finals looking to capture its third consecutive state championship.

After winning back-to-back titles in 2024 and 2025, the Mustangs have established themselves as one of Michigan's premier girls golf programs. Now, with another postseason opportunity ahead, Northville is looking to extend its championship run.

The Mustangs enter the state finals following an impressive regional championship performance, highlighted by junior Cam Baker, who fired a 69 to claim the individual regional title.

Baker wasn't alone in delivering a strong performance. Teammates McKenzie Stevens, Kate Lis and Naaz Gill also finished among the top six individually, demonstrating the depth that has helped Northville remain a championship contender.

A championship standard

Winning one state championship is difficult. Winning consecutive titles requires consistency, talent and the ability to perform under pressure.

For Northville, the opportunity to secure a third straight Division 1 crown represents more than another trophy. It's a chance to further establish the program's place among Michigan's most successful girls golf teams.

The Mustangs' balanced lineup could prove critical as they face the state's best competition.

The road to a three-peat

The 2026 MHSAA Division 1 Girls Golf State Finals are scheduled for October 16–17 at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek.

With momentum from their regional victory and championship experience on their side, the Mustangs will look to finish another season at the top.

For Northville, the mission is clear: three straight state championships.
