THREE-PEAT! Northville Girls Golf Captures Third Straight Division 1 State Championship

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Three years. Three state championships. One dominant program.

The Northville Mustangs continued their impressive run in Michigan high school girls golf, capturing their third consecutive MHSAA Division 1 state championship on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Northville finished the two-day championship tournament with a combined team score of 631, securing the title by 18 strokes over runner-up Macomb Dakota.

The victory further establishes the Mustangs as one of Michigan’s premier girls golf programs.

A Championship Built on Consistency

Winning one state championship is difficult. Winning three consecutive titles requires an exceptional level of consistency.

That’s exactly what Northville has demonstrated.

With another championship on the line, the Mustangs delivered the performances necessary to separate themselves from the competition.

McKenzie Stevens, Naaz Gill and Cam Baker each finished tied for 11th individually, recording two-round totals of 156.

Their contributions helped Northville build the team score that ultimately secured another Division 1 championship.

Rather than relying on one standout performance, the Mustangs showcased the depth that has become a defining characteristic of their championship run.

Macomb Dakota Finishes State Runner-Up

Metro Detroit was well represented near the top of the final standings.

Macomb Dakota finished second with a team score of 649, trailing Northville by 18 strokes.

Although the Cougars came up short of the championship, their runner-up finish represents another significant accomplishment for the program.

The final standings highlighted the strength of girls golf across Metro Detroit, with two local programs occupying the top two positions in Michigan’s largest enrollment division.

Three Straight Titles, One Lasting Legacy

Northville’s latest championship adds another chapter to a remarkable stretch of success.

The Mustangs entered the 2026 season carrying the expectations that come with consecutive state championships.

By the end of the weekend, they had answered those expectations with another title.

Three straight Division 1 championships represent sustained excellence, from player development and team depth to the ability to perform when the stakes are highest.

For Northville, the standard remains clear.

The Mustangs aren’t just competing for state championships.

They’re building a dynasty.
