Clarkston Dominates West Bloomfield 38–10 to Claim OAA Red Title

A rainy homecoming night turned into a statement win for the Wolves as they shut down one of Metro Detroit’s top programs.

The perfect football weather set the stage — low 60s with light off-and-on showers — for West Bloomfield’s Homecoming game. Fans filled the stands, eager to see if the Lakers could hand Clarkston a rare loss. But the Wolves had other plans. From the opening kickoff, Clarkston showed why they’ve become one of Michigan’s most complete teams, dominating on both sides of the ball and crowning themselves OAA Red champions with a 38–10 victory.

First Quarter: Clarkston Strikes First

Clarkston received the opening kickoff and wasted no time. #0 Griffin Boman (RB/LB, 2027) — twin brother of #1 Lukas Boman (RB/LB, 2027) — exploded for a 30-yard touchdown run to put the Wolves up 7–0 early.

West Bloomfield’s offense started strong, but QB Jaxson Carver (2027) threw an early interception, giving Clarkston the ball back deep in Lakers territory. The Wolves attempted a 49-yard field goal, but it came up short, giving the Lakers another chance to reset.

Second Quarter: Lakers Fight Back

The Lakers built momentum with big plays from WR Obi Duru (2026) and ATH Will Espy (2026). Carver connected with RB Joel Davis (2026) for a touchdown to tie the game at 7–7.

Late in the half, QB Alex Waszczenko (2027) hit RB/LB Lukas Boman on a big gain to move Clarkston inside the 10-yard line. After a near-TD pass to WR/TE Shane Banagi (2028), K Adam O’Neill (2026) nailed a 36-yard field goal, giving the Wolves a 10–7 halftime lead.

Third Quarter: Wolves Take Control

The Lakers received the ball after halftime but penalties killed their drive. Clarkston’s offense turned up the pressure — with QB Alex Waszczenko (2027) connecting with both Griffin and Lukas Boman for explosive plays. Lukas capped the drive with a touchdown to extend the lead to 17–7.

The Lakers answered with a solid drive that ended in a 26-yard field goal by K Bryce Coburn (2027) to make it 17–10, but West Bloomfield’s defense immediately shifted the momentum. They recorded back-to-back sacks — the first from LB Kyren Merriewether (2026) and the next from DL Tristan Hunter (2027) — shutting down Clarkston’s next drive and forcing a punt. The Lakers looked to capitalize and build on that defensive energy heading into the fourth quarter.

Fourth Quarter: Clarkston Closes It Out

With pressure mounting, Carver’s pass was picked off by RB/LB/K Hunter Karth (2027). Clarkston capitalized quickly — Lukas Boman ran it in for another score to make it 23–10.

Moments later, OL Liam Sutherland (2026) snagged an interception, setting up another Boman touchdown to stretch the lead to 30–10. The Wolves weren’t done yet — Lukas added one more touchdown late, sealing the 38–10 victory.

The Wolves’ dominance crowned them OAA Red Division champions, as they beat every team in the conference.

Postgame Reactions

Clarkston Head Coach Justin Pintar:

“For the most part, we were able to contain their run game and not give up big explosive plays. Any time you can limit a team like West Bloomfield — as talented as they are — that’s huge. Our defense flew to the football, tackled well, and our secondary was excellent tonight.”

West Bloomfield Head Coach Zach Hilbers:

“We were still in it, but we let it slide. With a team like Clarkston, they make you pay for mistakes. Moving forward, we just have to finish games.”

Final Score:

Clarkston 38 – West Bloomfield 10
