Clarkston Shuts Down Rochester Adams in Military Appreciation Game, 21–7

Friday night in Clarkston was about more than football. With a military helicopter landing just outside the stadium and first responders honored before kickoff, the atmosphere was electric. Fans got an up-close look at military service in action, while Clarkston’s program made sure to recognize those who serve — from veterans to police, fire, and dispatch personnel.

Game Recap

Clarkston wasted no time setting the tone. Senior running back and linebacker Lukas Boman (#1) powered through on the opening drive, putting the Wolves up 7–0 after the first quarter. Rochester Adams responded in the second, with QB Ryland Watters connecting on a wide-open touchdown to tie the game.

The Highlanders’ defense showed grit, holding Clarkston on a fourth-and-one attempt in the red zone, sending the game into halftime tied at 7–7.

The second half, however, belonged to Clarkston. After forcing a turnover, the Wolves capitalized on short-field position to reclaim the lead, 14–7. A controversial play briefly quieted the crowd when Boman appeared to keep running after falling on a defender, but officials ruled his knee down. Clarkston didn’t let it stop them — another punishing drive extended the lead to 21–7.

From there, the Wolves’ defense took over. They shut down Rochester Adams on multiple fourth-down tries, sealing the win and moving to 4–1 on the season.

Coach’s Take

Head coach Justin Pintar praised both sides of the ball:

  • On Boman: “He was tough as nails tonight. He was getting tired, but carried on with hard, physical running.”

  • On his defense: “The whole defense followed their assignments and got it done.”

Looking ahead, Pintar emphasized the importance of next week’s rivalry game against Lake Orion (0–5): “Records don’t matter when it comes to rivalry games. We need a good week of practice.”

For Rochester Adams (3–2), the road doesn’t get easier. They’ll face Rochester Hills Stoney Creek (4–1), who’s coming off a 34–0 shutout.
