Detroit Renaissance delivered a dominant performance in the District Semifinal, defeating Berkley 54–16 at Southfield A&T High School to advance to the next round of the MHSAA playoffs.

After a slow, physical opening quarter, Renaissance erupted offensively and never looked back, using three-point shooting and defensive pressure to separate themselves from Berkley.

First Quarter - Defensive Battle

Both teams opened the game with physical play in the paint, but scoring was difficult to come by. Shots struggled to fall on both sides, resulting in a low-scoring first quarter where defense controlled the pace.

Second Quarter - Renaissance Breaks It Open

Renaissance caught fire in the second quarter, knocking down multiple three-pointers and scoring the majority of their points from beyond the arc.

Berkley struggled to find offensive rhythm, as Renaissance’s defensive pressure disrupted passing lanes and limited clean scoring opportunities. The surge gave Renaissance a commanding lead heading into halftime.

Third Quarter - Control Continues

The momentum carried into the third quarter as Renaissance continued to dictate the tempo. While the perimeter shooting remained effective, the offense became more balanced with baskets inside the paint.
