West Bloomfield vs Rochester Adams

Friday night lights in Metro Detroit didn’t disappoint, as West Bloomfield and Rochester Adams squared off in a tough, physical matchup between two unbeaten programs. Both teams came in with momentum, but only one could walk away still perfect.

The game was a defensive showcase from start to finish. Adams struck first with a field goal, but West Bloomfield answered back before halftime with a touchdown to take a slim 10–6 lead into the break. From there, it was all about grit, adjustments, and holding strong at the line of scrimmage.

The Lakers’ defense rose to the challenge. After a handful of key stops, they sealed the game by keeping Adams out of the end zone late. The final whistle blew with West Bloomfield on top, 12–6, improving their record to 3–0 and proving they can win even when the offense isn’t firing on all cylinders.

Head Coach Zach Hilbers praised his team’s toughness after the game, saying the group had “faced adversity and overcame it.” His players echoed that sentiment, giving credit to the defense for playing a “hell of a game.”

For West Bloomfield, the victory was about more than points — it was about identity. They showed they can grind out a win in the trenches, and in the process, made another strong case as one of the teams to beat in Metro Detroit this season.
