Concord Pulls Away in Fourth Quarter to Defeat Detroit Douglass 60–47 for Division 4 State Title

Concord used a dominant fourth quarter to defeat Detroit Douglass 60–47 and capture the MHSAA Division 4 Boys Basketball State Championship Saturday at the Breslin Center.
After a tightly contested game through three quarters, Concord took control late behind strong rebounding, transition offense, and defensive stops to secure the state title.
First Quarter
Concord came out aggressive to start the championship game, knocking down shots early while applying pressure defensively.
The Yellow Jackets’ early energy helped them build a lead, although turnovers kept Detroit Douglass within reach as the quarter ended 14–7.

Halftime: Detroit Douglass 26, Concord 22
Detroit Douglass responded in the second quarter with improved defense and better ball control.
The Hurricanes attacked the paint effectively and converted those opportunities into points, taking their first lead of the game. Concord stayed close by hitting tough shots late in the quarter, but Douglass entered halftime with a 26–22 advantage.
